The work titled Self-Portrait 21 by Jun-Jun Sta.Ana is a part of series
of self-portraits done using elements of the artist's past and the present. 
It was an exercise on subjectivity and objectivity,
hence the use of the self looking out to the viewer in the background;
and another looking in- with the rear of the head appearing in the foreground.
 
The work is autobiographical- analyzing where the artist was and has been,
having been born and raised in the Philippines; and where he was at in his life,
during the time the series was done.
