I was born and raised in Muncie, Indiana. I began college at Ball State University but transferred after a few years to the school of the Art Institute of Chicago as a painting student. I earned both my BFA and MFA and finished my education in 1978. I had already begun to show as an undergraduate at the school having one of my pieces hung at the Art Institute in a show in 1976.
In 1995 I was hired as a full-time instructor at Joliet Junior College and I currently teach life drawing, computer art, graphic design and introduction to art. I had picked up computer experience early on and applied it to my teaching in the day when not many people had experienced enough to teach computer art. I was made a full Professor in 2007.
Besides 33 Contemporary Gallery in Chicago. I am also a member of an artist's group called the Mythopians. I was a founding member of West Hubbard Gallery during the Hubbard Street scene days in Chicago and have been represented by many galleries including Sonia Zaksʼ gallery until she passed away a few years ago.
